1. Can you please tell me what are the various database software available in the world.
2. merits and demerits of each of them
3. where to get those softwares and price details.
4. how to backup access database
5. Can we have an access for multiple user, and if yes how to go about it.
6. how to integerate a database to a good website
7. what are the various website tools available.
8. what are the security issues should be kept in mind to have a very secure database and a website.

9. Is it advisable to purchase a predesigned software or employ some good programmer aand do it solely for the company.

Please do help me in this as I have to submit a report on this issues to my company. i would be very greatful if i get a very detailed answer.

I would like to have a similiar database system to the UKDFD website which has a brilliant software database in place

I think there is a big market for this amongst us european detectorists

But it needs to be user friewndly like the UKDFD website database

I am looking for a good phone room (telemarketing) database storage software. We had a person build us a pretty good one in Access 07, but it keeps giving us errors. We just want to be able to store the customers info, we need it to have resort info, and have the program tell us who gets paid for what, etc, etc.

Any ideas/opinions?

Hello everyone,

I work for a trading company that sells a wide range of product. We are looking into the possibility to upgrade our database and we have reserve a small budget for it.

Our companies has 15 major production lines that offer over 2000 types of product. Each production line has its own pricing programme and very often we offer special prices for our clients. Therefore we are looking for a user-friendly system that allows us to manage and modify (NOT just store) a huge amount of data, including production info, supplier info, customer info.

We are using MS Excel files as our database and we have wasted too much time on copying data from one file to another.
Below are my concerns for some database software that i know of:
Access - My colleagues do not have much access knowledge –> hard to manage? Long time to build the database?
MySQL - Too technical and powerful for a small company?
QuickBooks - Dunno much abt it, any opinion?

I have loads of .avi movies on my macbook, and am looking for a database software to be able to browse them? I normally use the VLC player to view them, and would ideally like to continue using it. The Apple TV option would be good, but it won’t be able to handle all the movies I have, and would use the itunes player, which is pants for movies. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hello all. A few years back I mistakenly misplaced/tossed out my pc versions of the Oracle database software. Specifically, I’m looking for DOS Versions 4, 5, and 6. This is just for personal use and I know there are newer free versions available. Thanks for any helpful suggestions.
